Brokers Breaking Bad

Why Take “Brokers Breaking Bad”?

In an industry where one oversight can cost you your license – or your livelihood – it pays to know where the line is, and how not to cross it. Brokers Breaking Bad is not your typical continuing education course. It’s designed for real estate professionals who want to go beyond checking a box and instead sharpen their skills, strengthen their risk management strategies, and better serve their clients.

This class uses the high-stakes drama of Breaking Bad as a creative lens to explore the real-world consequences of poor decisions in brokerage practice. You’ll uncover the most common mistakes that get brokers in trouble, learn how to avoid legal landmines, understand how insurance can protect (or fail) you, and gain practical tools to stay compliant with North Carolina disclosure laws.

What is continuing education (CE)?
Continuing Education is a recurring annual requirement for all licensees wishing to maintain active license status eligibility and must be completed each license period by June 10th beginning with the first full annual license period after initial licensure. Each licensee is required to take the appropriate 4-hour Update course (BICUP for BIC-eligible and BIC designated and GENUP for provisional brokers and brokers) and a 4-hour elective of your choice.
What is the attendance policy for CE?
Licensees must attend 90% of a CE course and comply with student participation standards in order to receive credit for the course. Early departures from CE courses delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning are prohibited by Rule 58A .1705. Students who depart courses early will not receive course credit.
When do I have to take CE?
Starting prior to the second renewal of your real estate license continuing education must be completed each annual license period between July 1 and June 10. It is very important to note that schools are not permitted to offer courses for CE credit between June 11 and June 30 of each year.
What if I am unable to complete the course after I enroll?
A student may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the Education Provider prior to the start of the course. In such event, the student will have the following options: students who withdraw prior to the start of the course shall have the option to

1. Move their registration to any future course of the same type within 6 months.

2. Receive a full credit equal to the cost of their enrollment to be used toward other courses.
