NC Broker Continuing Education Courses

Purpose of the Continuing Education Program

The primary objective of the mandatory Continuing Education Program is to help assure that licensees possess the knowledge, skills, and competency necessary to function in the real estate business in a manner that protects and serves real estate consumers and the public interest.

Per G.S.93A-38.5, brokers must complete eight (8) credit hours of instruction annually in subjects approved by the Commission in order to retain eligibility to actively engage in real estate brokerage. Per Commission Rule 58A .1702, the eight hours must be comprised of an Update course and four credit hours of elective courses.

The 2024-2025 General Update Course as created by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission provides licensees with current information relating to Environmental Material Facts, NCREC Frequently Asked Questions, Permits, Education Update, and Law and Rules Update.

The 2024-2025 Broker-In-Charge Update Course as created by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission provides BIC-Eligible licensees with current information relating to Environmental Material Facts, NCREC Frequently Asked Questions, Permits, Education Update, Law and Rules Update, and BIC Responsibility and Supervision.

This course was written to address those concerns. This course provides an overview of working in commercial real estate. It will enable a licensee to have a strong understanding and basis for deciding whether or not to practice in the commercial arena

This class introduces negotiation tactics of FBI hostage negotiators, Harvard professors, and ancient philosophers to provide agents with the tools necessary to advocate for their clients at the highest level. Surveys on consumers prove that guidance in the negotiating process is one of the most valuable skills that agents offer.

This is a 4-hour course and is eligible for 4 hours of elective credit.
